JetSmart, the low-cost airline, has announced the opening of three new international routes linking Colombia to Peru. These new routes will connect Lima with the cities of Medellín, Cartagena and Cúcuta.

The Medellín-Lima route will operate five times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays), with services scheduled to begin on 8 November 2023. The Cartagena-Lima route will begin on 7 December, with flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Finally, the Cúcuta-Lima route will begin on 12 December with flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

These flights will be operated by latest-generation Airbus A320neo aircraft. Tickets are already available for purchase on the airline’s website at very competitive prices.

In addition to these new international routes, JetSmart has applied for authorisation to fly 27 routes between Colombian cities and is currently awaiting the green light to begin operations. According to Victor Mejía, CCO of JetSmart, the company hopes to officially become a Colombian operator by the end of the year.

JetSmart plans to have a strong presence in Bogotá and Medellín. The airline plans to operate 49 weekly frequencies on this route, making it the busiest, followed by Bogotá – Cartagena (35) and Medellín – Cartagena (35), among others. The airline would be present at the airports of Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Bucaramanga, San Andrés, Pereira, Montería, Cúcuta, Pasto and Pereira.

JetSmart’s announcement of these new routes strengthens connectivity between Colombia and Peru, giving travellers more options between the two countries.
