Mountain chalets in Bariloche
Bariloche has the largest network of mountain cabins in Argentina. Every year, thousands of hikers from all over the world visit these cabins and admire the trails, the views, the waterways and the feeling that the sky is within reach. The sun accompanies you at every step and the stars are witnesses to an authentic adventure unique in the life of each visitor.
One of the distinctive features of this true “network” of chalets is that a set of trails brings them closer together without having to return to the city. One or two or all of the chalets in Bariloche are at your feet.
The Steppe
A vast expanse of land and sky, surrounded by the deepest silence, gives you the opportunity to live a day full of adventure: stand-up rafting, floating, horseback riding or cycling, fishing and even bird watching! In these regions where the air is the purest in the world, let yourself be surprised by the majestic flight of the great condor. You can also see herds of guanacos, beautiful and graceful animals, covered in brown and white fur.
Eating in Bariloche
Food in Bariloche is a party. Everything invites you to have a good meal: the great restaurants that mix Patagonian and international cuisine; the craft beer routes; the chocolate and sweets; the smoked meat and all the places where something is cooked and served to you for your greatest pleasure.
Bariloche brings together the best of Argentine and international cuisine. The city is renowned for the quality and variety of food. A plus: the curanto, not to be missed! The only place where you will find this ancient meal made of meat and vegetables cooked underground, wrapped in nalca leaves (a local plant).
This celebration takes place every October during Food Week. Enjoy an incredible program that mixes good food with learning and sharing.
The Snow
From July to October, Bariloche is one of Argentina’s biggest attractions, offering skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, sliding and snowmobiling. For beginners in winter sports, the mountains have gentle slopes and woods. Seasoned athletes can face new challenges on slopes that reach up to 2,100 meters above sea level. Lovers of “off-piste” skiing will be surprised by the number of options available.
