Founded in 1993, explora is a travel company that owns and operates luxury hotels and Travesías – high-end nomadic journeys – in 7 remote destinations in South America.
We offer a new way of traveling, based on in-depth exploration of the surroundings, the luxury of the essentials and sustainable development.
Our explorations are what make us unique, which is why we are constantly looking for new routes. This year, there are more than 3,600 km of roads and more than 100 different explorations on offer, by van, hiking, horseback riding, or mountain biking, accompanied by expert bilingual guides.
Our hotels have been designed as a base from which to explore the remote territories of South America. Each one responds to the beauty and characteristics of its unique location: in the Atacama Desert, in the heart of Chilean Patagonia (Torres del Paine Park), on Easter Island, and in the Sacred Valley of Peru.

The Salta and El Chaltén Trails are nomadic journeys in which we cross the Andes mountain range and travel some of the most remote roads in the world to explore incredible landscapes. These adventures can be done from Chile or Argentina and start or end at one of our hotels.
The Travesía El Chaltén crosses the most beautiful regions of Patagonia, on both sides of the mountain range, while the Travesía Salta is a journey of contrasts between the greenery of the Salta valleys and the most arid territory in the world: the Atacama. The latter was included in the list of the “9 most impressive hiking destinations in the world” established by Forbes.
